Rainforest Trip - Stress Relief

10 Days or more - Program Itinerary.

Intended for exhausted executives or persons with a very strenuous, stressful way of life, or for those that are simply looking for relaxation, quality time, privacy, rainforest immersion and nature at its best.


Day 1: Panama:  Welcome Greet at International Airport in Panama. Private transfer direct to the hotel of your choice. Gamboa Rainforest Resort, or the Canopy Tower & Observatory Lodge. Both places are unique in their own style having one thing in common, both are surrounding by nature with relaxing atmosphere and beauty, the only noise may be the singing of little birds around or near your bedroom.

Day 2: The City and the Canal: After breakfast around 9am, you will be picking up for a full visit of the city and to the Panama Canal area. A stop at the folk art market at the old YMCA building is followed by a visit to the Miraflores Locks on the Panama Canal where large ships can be seen transiting the canal. Enjoy a presentation by the Panama Canal Commission on the history of the Panama Canal and marvel at the workings of this feat of human engineering.
Early in the afternoon, return to your hotel for a relaxing massage at their fabulous Rainforest Spa or if desire a complete spa combination and treatment.

Day 3: The Highlands: Transfer to local airport to take a flight to the City of David, Capital of Chiriquí and the highlands, our representative guide will take you to a panoramic tour of the area to the plant process of “El Beneficio del Café” where you will be able to understand the whole process, that star with the collection of the  coffee beans from the Nogbe Bugle indigenous people and the whole process, extracting the pulp and fermentation, throughout the final selection and roasting process.
In the highlands you can choose to stay at Finca Lerida Coffee Estates & Eco Lodge or in Valle Escondido Resort Community Golf & Spa; the first option (Finca Lerida) offers a beautiful view of the valley and the surrounding mountains. Feel free to rest in these cosy and gorgeous rooms, decorated in Scandinavian style that combines with a unique rainforest and cloud forest mountains scenery.

The other lodging choice is beautiful Valle Escondido Resort that offers a comprehensive range of holistic treatments to regenerate and rejuvenate. Here at the centre you will gain valuable insight and knowledge to empower you for the rest of your life, here are the spa package for you to choose from, and for 1 or more days

Day 4: Canopy Adventure: After breakfast we depart for a tour at Boquete Tree Treek Canopy Tour, one of a kind adventure in the rainforest.  A tour where you will glide through the treetops of century old forests, high above the pristine rivers and waterfalls that make up the incredible collection of natural landscapes. The wildlife within the treetops is immense, making possible to appreciate our native species of small animals, birds and great variety of orchids and wildflowers.  You may even get the chance to see monkeys and with some luck the famous quetzal.  Box lunch included. In the Afternoon return to your hotel.

Day 5: Fabulous Rafting at the Rainforest: After your breakfast we will pick you up, for a previously choice of one of the following rafting categories (Please let us know your choice in advance)

Jaguar Section: (Chiriqui Viejo River)
Class 4, wave trains, holes, drop turn, steep and technical, short and long rapids.
Minimum age: 14

Harpia Section:
Class 3 in Chiriquí Viejo is best for first time rafting
Minimum age: 7                                                                        

Rio Esti:
Class 1: artificial river for an easy float.
Minimum age: 4 (especially for small kids with their parents)

In the afternoon return to your hotel.

Day 6: One Day Chagres River and the Embera Community: Early in the morning, we will be transferred to the local airport to fly back to Panama City. Pick up from the local airport to visit this pure adorable indigenous group, who live in the banks of The Chagres River in the jungle of Chagres National Park. We’ll reach the shores of the Lake Alajuela, here were travel with dugout canoes thru the lake and then the Chagres River, until will reach the Indian Village. The Embera proudly adorn their body with paintings, they will show us their dances and their remarkable handicrafts. They will also invite us to share their traditional dish of fish with plantain in a banana leaf; in addition we also will provide fresh tropical fruits and bottle water.

Day 7: San Blas Islands: Very early in the morning, we will be transferred to the local Albrook Airport to take a plane to our final exotic destination, the gorgeous paradise of the archipelago of San Blas islands, with more than 300 islands and land of the Kuna indigenous people. Upon arrival to Playon Chico, then after 30 minutes of trip, a guide from Sapibenega Lodge will pick you up and transport by motor canoe about 8 minutes to Sapibenega, later your received a  Welcome reception with a continental breakfast from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Day 8: After breakfast, Sapibenega offers you a great variety of all natural and cultural activities like:

  • A tour to the Kuna village of Playon Chico to know our way of living, organization system and handcrafting.
  • Excursion to Uan (the Kuna Burial Ground) to experience part of Kuna rites and their custom.
  • Trek along the mainland to Kolebir a traditional Kuna village.
  • For the presentation of the Kuna’s traditional dances we require a group of minimum 8 people.

Day 9:  Return to Panama and Farewell:   Very early in the morning after a light breakfast and coffee we departure to Playon Chico airport, to take our plane back to Panama City. Then transfer to your hotel for accommodation.
Panamanian Night: We will take you to the Tinajas Restaurant where you can see an authentic Panamanian folkloric dance presentation, with the beautiful and traditional Panamanian Pollera (typical dress), delight yourself with the authentic recipes of  Panamanian cuisine as well as international dishes, house specialties include selfish and fresh seafood dishes.

Day 10: Departure: After breakfast, be ready to be transfer to the international airport for a safe trip back home.
