11- Trip to the Embera Indigenous community

Our adventure start in the morning: leaving your hotel and after a road transfer, of 1.5 hrs heading north from Panama City, we'll reach the shores of the lake Alajuela.

From here on, the friendly Embera indigenous group will pick us up in their dugout canoes in the lake, and then on the river Chagres until reach the river shore and make a 20 minutes hiking to a beautiful water fall in the rainforest, if you do not want to walk, you can take a swim at the river or wait on the canoe...
After this, we will return to the canoe and heading to their village.

This is the closest encounter to this pure adorable indigenous group, who live in the banks of the Chagres River in the jungle of Chagres National Park.  Over ten years ago, several families of Embera indigenous group original from the remote rainforest tribes of Darien's jungle migrated to Chagres River's bank, situated at less than hour and half from Panama City.

At the village. the The Embera, “who proudly adorns their body with paintings”, will tell us about their history, way of life and beauty of their dances, you will also be able to see and acquire some of their remarkable handicraf.

They will also invite us to share their traditional dish of delicious fried fresh river fish and green fried plantain (patacones) serve in a banana leaf; in addition we also provide fresh tropical fruits and bottle water.

Departure daily at 8:30 am with a minimum of 4 persons, if your party is less that 4 persons , please check with us for availability.
We will be returning to Panama City around 4:30pm approximately.
